MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has taken exception to ECOWAS Court’s ruling involving it and former Associate Justice Kabinah Ja’neh.

Liberia’s Solicitor General Cllr. Cyrenius Cephus said:” Government’s exception is in line with Article 91 of the Rule of Procedures of the Court.”

Cllr. Cephus said Government will take advantage of the Rule of Procedures to do a more critical and comprehensive ruling of its ruling.

The Solicitor General said the Liberian Government will file a petition to the ECOWAS Court for judicial review on a number of fundamental issues regarding its ruling.

Cllr. Cephus, however, described the case as inconclusive, noting that the decision is the first phase that would allow Liberian lawyers create a forum to engage the Court to lay out what he called probable errors, for more judicial review on the matter.

He spoke Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) regular press briefing in Monrovia.
