MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah, through the Management of the National Port Authority (NPA), has awarded full college scholarship to the highest performing student in the just ended West African Senior School Certificate Exams (WASSCE).

According to NPA Managing Director, Bill Twehway, the awarding of scholarship to 17-year old Blessing Jaleiba comes as a result of President Weah’s interest to promote female education, especially girls who perform exceptionally well.

Speaking to ELBC Monday, November 16, 2020, Mr. Twehway said:” Government will under right the full cost of Miss Jaleiba’s college education in any university of her choice in Liberia, or abroad in the nearest future.”

For her part, Miss Jaleiba of Saint Theresa’s Convent praised President Weah and the Managing Director of the NPA for the opportunity accorded her to seek higher education in Liberia.

Miss Jaleba, also President of Saint Theresa’s Convent High School in Monrovia, promised to do more in her college education to bring pride to Government, and expressed interest to attend Mother Pattern College of Health Sciences to do Biology and Chemistry.
