MOROVIA, LIBERIA-Grand Kru County Representative Cllr. Fonati Koffa has been elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Rep. Koffa replaced the then Deputy Speaker former Bong County Representative Prince Moye, who has been elected Senator in the just-ended Mid-Term Senatorial Election.
Cllr. Koffa was elected on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, defeating Representatives Clarence Massaquoi and Moimah Briggs-Mensah of Lofa and Bong Counties, respectively.
The Grand Kru County Lawmaker obtained forty-five votes from a total of sixty-eight votes cast, while Representative Massaquoi obtained twenty and Representative Briggs-Mensah two.
In his post-election remarks, the new Deputy Speaker lauded his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him.
