MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has cited authorities of APM Terminal, the National Port Authority (NPA), BIVAC, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and CTMs to show cause for the reported hike in tariff at the Free Port of Monrovia.
According to ELBC Reporter, the body also cited other players, including shipping companies.
It followed a report by a Specialized Committee set up to investigate the operations of APM Terminals and the role of the NPA in the reported 9.67 percent tariff increment on all cargo services.
The Committee, prior to Plenary’s decision, recommended APM Terminals’ concession be revealed, financial statement submitted and an independent validation of said documents be done by the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the institutions cited are expected to appear before the body Tuesday next week.
