Gov. breaks grounds for construction of modern hospital in Gbarpolu County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia will today, Thursday, January 21, 2021, break grounds for the construction of a one-hundred room hospital in Gbarpolu County.

The hospital is a twenty-million United States Dollar from the Government of the United Arab Emirates to the Liberian people and Government.

In an ELBC interview Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh, said:” The grant for the construction of the hospital followed President Weah’s visit to the UAE two years ago.”

Dr. Kateh further disclosed that the UAE has already given Liberia about five-million United Stated Dollars’ worth of medicines, as part of the agreement reached during the President’s visit to the Arab Nation.

He emphasized that the project is expected to be completed in fourteen months from the day of the ground breaking.
