CBL breaks grounds for regional office in Gbarnga, Bong County

by Francis Pelenah Jr,

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia has assured Liberians of continued efforts by the CBL to decentralize its services across the country.

Aloysius Tarlue said by constructing regional offices, the Central Bank will enhance access to cash and also reduce the long hours most often spent at commercial banks for transactions.

He spoke over the weekend when the CBL broke grounds for the construction of a regional office in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The CBL Boss added that the Gbarnga Office will strengthen the movement of cash in the region, where those from neighboring counties will not have to travel to Monrovia for transaction.

Mr. Tarlue disclosed that similar establishments will be built to provide services in other parts of the country.

Meanwhile Bong County Representative Josiah Marvin Cole and Superintendent Esther Walker have commended the Central Bank of Liberia for selecting Gbarnga for the construction of its regional office.

The two Bong County officials said the construction of the CBL office will ease the difficulties civil servants face in getting their salaries.

They warned contractors and citizens to desist from any act that will undermine the successful completion of the project.

CBL regional Headquarter project is put at a cost of four hundred thousand United States dollars and is expected to be completed in six months.
