MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The House of Representatives has amended the Act establishing the General Auditing Commission.
According to our reporter, it followed a report submitted to that August Body by the Joint Public Accounts and Judiciary Committees.
The Public Accounts Committee Chairman, Representative Edward Karfiah, said they took into consideration, amongst other things, the Legal implications and effects of the General Auditing Commission Act of 2014.
Representative Karfiah said the instrument is also intended to fight corruption, waste and abuse of Public resources, and to ensure accountability and integrity of public officials.
Meanwhile, the law has been forwarded to the Senate for concurrence.
