MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Child Protection Network of Liberia is calling on the Ministry of Justice to fast track investigation and prosecution of cases of child abuse in Liberia.

In a position statement, the Child Protection Network said it is deeply concern about the growing wave of child abuse cases, including trafficking, rape, neglect and exploitation in the Country.

A statement read by Deputy Gender Minister for Children and Child Protection, Lydia Mai Sherman, also called for murder charges against the suspected perpetrators of two murder cases involving Joseph Kollie and Jerome Brown.

Five year old Joseph Kollie was discovered dead on December 20, 2020, in the Morris’ Farm Community, while eleven years old Jerome Brown reportedly died of hunger, after being denied food by his biological parents.
