Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission reassures Liberians, partners to fight corruption

by Francis Pelenah Jr,

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Acting Executive Person of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) is reassuring Liberians and international partners of the Commission’s commitment to fight against corruption.

Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala wants stakeholders within the integrity sector to robustly engage the LACC, as it embarks on the execution of its core mandate of fighting corruption and rebranding the Commission’s image.

Cllr. Gbala described the recent allegation against his person as politically motivated, primarily by deceptive political actors seeking to undermine the anti-corruption agenda of the Liberian Government.

He was speaking during an interactive meeting with Mr. Arnold Aidoo, the Executive Director of Integrity Watch Liberia, a local civil society organization that advocates the use of technology to combat corruption.

Cllr. Gbala said: “Confidence in the LACC can only come through building partnerships with progressive organizations, and implementing programs that seek to curb corruption before it even occurs.”
