MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has declared Wednesday, March 24, 2021, World Tuberculosis Day, and is to be observed across Liberia as a working holiday.
According to a Foreign Ministry release issued Tuesday, March 23, 2021, this year’s World Tuberculosis Day will be celebrated under the global theme: “It’s Time” with the slogan, “Get involved, Stop the Spread of TB”.
In the proclamation, President Weah called on the Ministry of Health and other agencies of the Government of Liberia and concerned international organizations to initiate appropriate program befitting the day.
World Tuberculosis Day is aimed at highlighting the threat TB poses to the human race, and informing the world about the global actions to prevent the spread of the disease across the world.
