Maryland County Superintendent calls for calm in Pleebo and Harper Cities…..

MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-Maryland County Superintendent George Prowd has called for calm after a day-long protest by motorcyclists in the County.

Tension brewed in Pleebo and Harper cities on Monday, March 29, 2021, as motorcyclists demanded the release of a man to them who murdered one of the motorcyclists.

Report from the County says the unidentified man murdered a 22 year-old motorcyclist identified only as Nyumah, and made away with his motorcycle.

Speaking to ELBC Monday, March 29, 2021, Superintendent Prowd said:” The accused has admitted to committing the act, and has been charged with murder by the Liberia National Police (LNP).”

According to Superintendent Prowd, the protest paralyzed normal activities in Pleebo and Harper cities on Monday.
