MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Mines and Energy wants global collaboration, to combat climate change aimed at reducing Greenhouse Gas emission (GHG).
A release from the Mines and Energy Ministry issued Monday, April 5, 2021, said Liberia has made some progress towards implementing the transparency elements of the Paris Climate Agreement, through Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT).
The Assistant Minister for Mines and Energy, William Thompson, said expert on climate change are challenged in making impact towards changing perception, myth, inherent socialization and culture.
Meanwhile, Minister Thompson is commending Conservation International (CI) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for their efforts in establishing a Project Steering Committee comprising key stakeholder institutions.
Minister Thompson spoke upon his return from Kampala, Uganda, where he and a technical team of the CBIT project had gone for a learning experience visit with their Ugandan counterparts.
