Margibi Youth avails 50 acres to Gov’t for agriculture purposes in Charlesville

MARGIBI COUNTY – Young people in Cotton Tree, Margibi County have procured 50 acres of land in Charlesville for agriculture purposes.

The land, according to the young people will be made available to the Government to help support their agriculture initiatives.

Margibi County, District-Two Youth Chairperson, Naomi Knight made the disclosure Tuesday, April 20, 2021, during an interactive meeting with President George Weah at the Cotton Tree Town Hall.

Madam Knight said the land will be used to plant vegetables and also carry on poultry production. She appealed to President Weah to support the agriculture initiative which according to her is a sustainable youth empowerment program.

The Women Chairperson of Cotton Tree in Margibi County has decried the huge intake of drugs by youth and children in the area.

Siah Cassell said the situation has led to the increase in criminal activities and school drop-outs by young people. Madam Cassell was speaking Tuesday at a town hall meeting with President George Weah as part of his County Tour.

The Cotton Tree Women Chairlady then appealed for the establishment of a rehab center to carry on rehabilitation on victims.

Meanwhile, Madam Siah Cassel has launched an appeal to President George Weah to renovate and equip the two resource centers and provide scholarships for the youth of the area.
