Hope, Oxfam partner to end Sexual Gender Based Violence in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The organization Helping Our People Excel (HOPE), in partnership with Oxfam, has begun a project to end sexual and Gender Based violence in Liberia.

Speaking Thursday, April 22, 2021, in an ELBC interview, the Executive Director of the Organization, Aisha Copper Bruce, said the project, code named ‘ENOUGH’ is currently ongoing in Rivercess and Sinoe Counties.

Madam Bruce said:” The project is geared toward the economic empowerment of Liberians, mainly women and girls.”

She further emphasized that Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) is a global issue that requires funding and government’s intervention to mitigate the act.

According to Madam Bruce, the main focus of the project is to build the capacity of gender actors in rural areas of the Country, and to create awareness about SGBV.
