Pres. Weah attends Sierra Leone’s 60th Independence Anniversary

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is in the Sierra Leonean Capital, Freetown, to participate in events marking the 60th Independence Anniversary of that Country.

President Weah left the Country Tuesday morning, April 27.2021, via the Roberts International Airport.

He was met on arrival at the Lugi International Airport by Sierra Leonean Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jalloh and an array of officials, including a delegation from the Liberian Embassy and Liberian Community in Freetown.

Before leaving Liberia, President Weah extended sincere best wishes to the Government and people of Sierra Leone, as they celebrate such historic milestone.

The Liberian Leader further expressed the hope that the relations between Liberia and Sierra Leone will be further deepened, for the betterment of the two countries and peoples.

He assured that both countries will continue to work together to promote peace, security and development in the Mano River Union Basin, ECOWAS region and the African Continent.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs is chairing the Cabinet in consultation with the Vice President, while President Weah is away.
