Former Commerce Minister, Wilson Tarpeh says 2.3 million vulnerable people benefited Covid-19 Stimulus Package

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The National Coordinator on the Covid-19 Stimulus Package, former Commerce Minister, Wilson Tarpeh says 2.3 million vulnerable people have benefited from the food distribution in Liberia.

 Appearing before the Senate’s Plenary Tuesday, April 29, 2021, Professor Tarpeh named Bomi, Rivercess, Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, and Rivergee Counties are five counties that distributions of food have been completed.

He said the remaining 10 counties are expected to be completed by the end of May this year.

He disclosed that the lack of adequate transport capacity, incomplete enumeration, and data cleaning among others as some challenges the team is faced with.

Meanwhile, several Senators have expressed dismay over the statistics given by Professor Tarpeh, saying that the figures are not realistic.
