MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The continuation of President George Weah county tour has been put on hold.
Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf noted that the trip is put on hold because President Weah is currently attending to some pressing national issues.
Minister Sirleaf told ELBC over the weekend, that the third-leg of the county tour is expected to take President Weah to Sinoe County. He said the fourth-leg of the tour could be combined with rural Montserrado and Lofa County.
In a related development, the Internal Affairs Ministry said invitation of Lawmakers to form part of President George Weah’s county tour is traditionally done through the Chairman of the various legislative caucuses.
The Ministry’s clarification is in reaction to comments attributed to Grand Bassa County Senior, Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence, that she was not invited to attend the recent tour of the President to Bassa County.
Minister Sirleaf said all members of the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus were communicated with through their Chairman, Representative Thomas Goshua.
