BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Bong County District Six Representative, Moima Briggs Mensah, says she is disappointed over the reported stealing of the Government’s stimulus food package intended for vulnerable people in Lower Bong.

Speaking in an ELBC interview Friday, May 7, 2021, Representative Mensah condemned the actions of people selected to carry out the distribution of the stimulus package.

The Bong County District Six Lawmaker said:” It is frustrating that some Liberians cannot take ownership of the distribution by ensuring that everyone benefits equally.”

Representative Briggs Mensah disclosed that over four hundred bags of rice, beans and vegetable oil have been seized so far from those who took away the food items.

According to her, she wonders why up to present, no one has been arrested in connection with the stealing, despite efforts by Sheriffs of the Salala Magisterial Court to have the perpetrators arrested.

Meanwhile, Representative Mensah is calling on police authorities in the County to ensure they bring those involved in the food theft are brought to justice.
