MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has sent a message of congratulation to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
The Schuman Declaration is celebrated on May 9 each year.
The Schuman Declaration was a speech made by the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Robert Schuman, on 9TH May 1950.
It proposed placing French and West German production of coal and steel under a single authority that would later be opened to other European countries.
President Weah reflected on the 9th edition of the EU-Liberia Political Dialogue, which has continued to build a strong bond of friendship and cooperation between Liberia and the European Union.
He noted that Liberia and the EU have remained reliable partner in defense of women rights, the promotion of security, human dignity and stability.
