MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has disrobed and suspended one of its officers for breach of professional ethics.

Officer Boima Ziyeah, assigned in Grand Kru County, was recently seen in a video on social media looking drunk and helpless, while fully attired in his LIS uniform.

Speaking at the LIS Headquarters in Sinkor on Monday, May 10, 2021, Deputy Commissioner General, Moses Yebleh, said:” Officer Ziyeah’s action contravenes Section 18.0, sub-section 18.1 of the LIS Code of Conduct, on Alcoholic Beverages and Drugs.”

Commissioner Yebleh condemned the act and assured that the incident will be investigated, and not swept under the carpet.

He said officer Ziyeah has been suspended for time indefinite, and turned over to the LIS Professional Standard Division for investigation, in line with its Disciplinary Regulations and Administrative Instructions.
