Prez. Weah sends condolence to Nigeria, family of former ECOMOG Commander, General Joshua Dogonyaro

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – President George Weah has sent a message of condolence to the government and people of Nigeria, after the death of Former ECOMOG Force Commander Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro.

General Dogonyaro was also Former Chief of Defense Staff of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In his message to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Liberian Leader extended to the government and people of Nigeria, including the bereaved family, heartfelt condolences for the irreparable loss sustained.

A Foreign Ministry release quotes President Weah as saying, the late Gen. Dogonyaro will be remembered for his role as Commander of ECOMOG during the Liberian civil war.

He said the late Commander’s active leadership role in ECOMOG’s intervention in Liberia saved many lives that could have been lost without the intervention of ECOWAS.

President Weah prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to grant the government and the people of Nigeria strength during this period of national mourning.
