MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) and the Ministry of Health, along with partners have ended a one-day national stakeholders meeting on strengthening Health Science Research in Africa Using Liberia as a case study.
The gathering was aimed at brainstorming ideas on how Health Science Research can strengthen capacity and improve the quality of health care delivery system in Africa.
Speaking at the meeting on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, NPHIL Deputy Director General for Administration, Dr. Patrick Kpanyen said continuous research is critical in building a vibrant health sector.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Committee on Health of the House of Representatives, Joseph Somwarbi, said research is crucial, as it provides innovative ideas and facilitates decision making.
At the same time, the Head of the Disaster Management Agency, Henry Williams, said the establishment of a scientific journal will enhance the work of Liberian scientists and researchers.
