UNDP Resident Representative wants Liberia’s decentralization program speeded

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative is calling for the acceleration of Liberia’s decentralization program.

Mr. Stephen Rodriguez said such move will help the Liberian Government to bridge the Country’s long existing gap.

The UNDP Boss, who recently toured several counties, decried the level of development deficit that exist in the interior of the Country.

Mr. Rodriguez spoke on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, during an engagement with the Liberian Media, the One UN House in Sinkor, Monrovia, stressing the need for Liberia’s decentralization agenda to be treated as an emergency.

At the same time, he has pledged the support of the UNDP to the Liberian Media, and urged journalists in the Country to stay committed and remain true to their values and ethics.

In response, the Vice President of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), Daniel Nyakonah, committed the Liberian Media to a working partnership with UNDP, in telling the full Liberian story.
