Monrovia, Liberia – The Armed Forces of Liberia has bid farewell to the United States Defense Attaché to Liberia, Colonel Matthew Alden, following two years of service in Liberia.
Speaking at a farewell ceremony Monday AFL Chief of Staff, Major General Prince C. Johnson, III, recounted the good efforts of Col. Alden that saw the Liberian military gaining more training opportunities from the US Government.
The AFL Chief of Staff among other things named the increase in budgetary allotment for International Military Education Training, the provision of scholarships as well as logistical support to the AFL as some of the many benefits Liberia attained from Col. Matthew Alden’s service in the country.
In response, Col. Matthew Alden, acknowledged the good working relationship he had with the AFL and the Ministry of National Defense and promised to seek more avenues of assistance for the Liberian Military.
