Governance Commission discloses plan to use Biometric Voting System in future elections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Officer–In–Charge at the Governance Commission says plans are being worked out for Liberia to begin using the biometric voting system in future elections.

Commissioner Elizabeth Dorkin said that is why the Governance Commission is working closely along with relevant government institutions, to ensure that the biometric voting system is used in the pending 2023 General and Presidential Elections.

She said:” It will produce synchronize voting system and reduce the usual huge financial burden on government to conduct elections.”

Commissioner Dorkin spoke Thursday, July 8, 2021, when Sierra Leone National Election Commission’s Delegation paid a working tour at the Governance Commission in Sinkor.

Also speaking during the visit, the Head of Delegation, Mohammed Konneh, praised Liberia’s Governance Commission for working along with other institutions to ensure that Liberia continues conducting peaceful elections.
