Education Ministry fines schools for violating COVID-19 Protocols

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia, through the Education Ministry, has heavily fined two schools in Montserrado County, for holding graduations in violation of the COVID-19 Protocols.

The schools, with names undisclosed, are fined two- hundred-thousand Liberian Dollars each, to be paid by the end of July or risk permanent closure by government.

Administrators of both schools are been fined for hosting a K-2 Graduation ceremony and Gala Day program, in the midst of government’s fight to curb the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, has warned of serious action to be taken against schools that will violate the no graduation mandate by government. The regulation is aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the Country.
