MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has sent to common jail the Former Assistant Director for Cyber Crime Intelligence at the National Security Agency (NSA), for lying under oath.
According to our reporter, the august body also mandated Mr. Joseph Jake Brown to pay a fine of four-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-nine- cents Liberian Dollars in government coffers.
The House of Representatives additionally wants the former NSA Agent published an apology in three local dailies, including Daily Observer, The Inquirer, and Front Page Africa newspapers.
ELBC Reporter said:” The body, however, requested the Ministries of Justice, Gender and Labor, including the NSA to investigate him while its Judiciary Committee served as focal.”
The House of Representatives on Tuesday, August 4, 2021, investigated Mr. Joseph Jake Brown for alleged Child trafficking and sex abuse of a minor, which went viral on social media.
Mr. Brown was invited along with authorities of the Ministers of Justice, Health, and Gender, including the Director of the NSA and the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP).
With the exemption of the Health Ministry, though the Ministry of Health was requested to appear a well, all other line Ministries and Agencies of Government invited were present.
It took nearly three hours of intense deliberation in an executive session to establish an alleged child trafficking and sex abuse of a child video, released by Mr. Brown.
The body than established his link to the act after he lied under oath that he was still in the employ of the NSA, following his dismissal. Speaker Bhofal Chambers interrogated him.
The National Security Agency Boss clarified Mr. Brown’s assertion, which was further backed by the reading of his dismissal letter by the Chief Clerk, Mildred Sayon.
