MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Defense Minister Daniel Ziankahn has extolled Nigeria for its role in the peace and stability Liberia currently enjoys.
Minister Ziankahn said Liberians will continue to carry Nigeria in their hearts in appreciation of the many sacrifices Nigeria made to foster peace during the Liberian civil conflict.
He praised Nigeria’s engagement with the Ministry and the Armed forces of Liberia (AFL), which he noted, has greatly helped in making the AFL a professional army.
According to a release, the Defense Boss made the remarks at the Barclay Training Center when he received in audience the faculty and participants from the Army War College Nigeria who are in the Country on a “Geo-strategic Study Tour”, a vital aspect of AWCN’s curriculum.
Speaking earlier the head of the delegation, Brig/Gen. IU Akpan, said the study tour is being carried out under the theme “Border Management and Regional Security Cooperation in West Africa”.
He further stated that after the tour, a comprehensive report will be written with recommendations, which will highlight the security challenges within the West African region.
