MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberia Revenue Authority says it has for the first time since 2014 experienced a significant upturn in government’s revenue collection.
Figures show that over US532 Million was raised for fiscal year 2020/2021, one of the highest domestic revenue performances in recent years.
In an ELBC interview Monday, August 23, 2021, LRA’s Manager for Communication, Varfee Holmes said the impressive increment shows the public’s awareness and compliance in paying taxes.
Mr. Holmes added that the LRA has adopted an Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) as part of its core mandate to increasing government revenue.
He added that the new system will assist the LRA in reducing probable leakage of government’s revenues as well as strengthen means for easy taxpaying.
