MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Ministry of Justice says Lofa County Senator- Elect, Brownie J. Samukai Jr.  and his co-defendants have not completed the fifty percent payment of the AFL pension funds mandated by the court.

The Ministry’s clarification followed recent payment of US173, 000 made to the courts by Mr. Samukai’s Lawyers.

Solicitor General Seyrenius Cephus told ELBC, Monday, August 23, 2021, that Mr. Samukai and Co-Defendants were jointly tried and therefore still a long way from meeting the financial settlement ordered by the court.

Cllr. Cephus added that the period given Mr. Samukai and his fellow convicts to settle the payment of the AFL Welfare funds has also elapsed.

The government’s Chief Prosecutor maintained that government will continue to remain in line with the law until Mr. Samukai concludes the due process.
