MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Finance has reported record revenue generated by the Liberian Government during the fiscal year 2020/2021.
Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Affairs Samora Wolokollie said during the course of budget execution, actual revenue over performed the projected revenue envelops.
Minister Wolokollie said:” The total revenue collected for the fiscal year amounted to six-hundred-ninety-five-point-seven-million United States Dollars exceeding expenditure by seventy-one-point-six-million US Dollars.”
He attributed the significant revenue performance to what he called prudent fiscal leadership at the Finance Ministry, and the good work of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
Speaking at the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT) regular press briefing on Thursday, August 26,2021, Minister Wolokollie said the over performance also resulted in the recast of the previously submitted budget to account for extra revenue generated.
