by Francis Pelenah Jr,

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The United States Chapter of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has elected its first female national chairperson since its formation in 2004.

Mrs. Constance Swen Duopu was elected following a closely contested election, overseen by CDC global Chairman Mulbah.

A CDC-USA statement said Mrs. Duopu joins the likes of Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel Tweah who served the organization as its first National Chairman.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Constance Duopu thanked President George Weah for his support to the convention and vowed her administration’s readiness to fully drive the government’s pro-poor agenda.

She then reaffirmed CDC-USA’s commitment to pushing the President’s vision, thus paving the way for his re-election in 2023.
