The agreement, signed between the two friendly governments, will include electronic and fire control equipment, and monitoring and sound systems, expected to be installed soon. Acting Foreign Minister, Henry Fahnbulleh, signed on behalf of the Liberian Government while Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Fu Jinju, signed for his Government. Making remarks at the signing ceremony, Minister Fahnbulleh said: “The Government of Liberia is pleased with the Technical Cooperation Agreement with China also geared at implementing other meaningful projects”. In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador, Fu Jinju, said: “The project is part of the ongoing China-Aided Renovation Project for the SKD Sport Complex”.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Youth and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson says the ultimate solution to the SKD Complex playing pitch is to install an artificial turf.

Minister Wilson said the soil on the pitch has outlived its usefulness making it impossible to get a natural grass pitch that will meet the best international standard.

According to him, the Ministry has already submitted a bill of quotation to the Ministry of Finance for the installation of the artificial turf and other basic facilities at the SKD Sports Complex.

Minister Wilson said the Ministry will continue to carryout steady improvement at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in order to meet the minimum standard required by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The ongoing upgrade was triggered by a ban imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), forcing Liberia to play her home matches outside of the country.
