MONROVIA, LIBERIA- The Defense Committee of the Liberian Senate wants ECOWAS leadership to go a step further from being politically reactive during crisis and to be proactive in the sub-region.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Steven Zargo said ECOWAS needs to come up with a clear position on tenure limit of its member countries to avoid constitutional and political crisis in the sub-region.
He said if Countries of the sub-region set two term- limit in their various constitutions, leaders should respect the terms by stepping aside to avoid conflict.
Speaking with ELBC Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in Paynesville, the Lofa County Senator urged ECOWAS leaders to practice good governance and adhere to the rule of law.
