MONROVIA, LIBERIA- President George Weah is in Accra, Ghana, to take part in an extraordinary summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) today Thursday.
The Liberian leader joined his regional counterparts ahead of today Thursday’s summit to discuss the recent coup d’état in Guinea and the resulting military and political situation.
At the summit, President Weah and others West African leaders are expected to review the report of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers on Presidential High-Level Mission to Guinea.
The regional organization will also assess the ongoing political unrest in Mali. The West African leaders are expected to issue a communiqué after their deliberations.
Some 13 heads of state from West African countries are expected to attend the extra-ordinary summit.
