MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) says it is deeply touched by the sincerity of a Liberian teenager who found and returned fifty-thousand United States Dollars to the owner.

LACC Executive Chairperson, Edwin Kla Martin said:” Emmanuel Tuloe demonstrated great citizenship and presented himself as a role model for Liberian youths.”

Cllr. Martin noted that LACC will collaborate with other stakeholders in finding a special place for Mr. Tuloe in the overall fight against corruption, and building of integrity among young people in the country.

Cllr. Martin said 19-year-old Tuloe’s action is in clear agreement with the LACC’s students’ integrity program intended to build a future of discipline public servants.

A statement from the country’s Anti-Corruption Office says the Executive Chairperson will dispatch a team to meet Emmanuel Tuloe and his parents in a village in Nimba County, to express the LACC’s gratitude for the sincerity shown.

Conversely, Mr. Tuloe says he is receiving threats from some friends for his sincerity.

He said because of the threats against his life, he has gone into hiding.

He told ELBC’s Bumper Show Thursday, October 14, 2021, that his peers are mocking him and classified his decision to return the money as senseless.

On Sunday, Emmanuel Tuloe found fifty-thousand US Dollars along the Secclepea-Tappita Highway, while returning from a traditional wedding in Ganta, Nimba County.

Mr. Tuloe then turned over the money to the owner, Musu Yancy, after she announced on two local radio stations about the missing money
