MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah says a more regional collaborative effort is needed to find lasting solution to the political impasse in neighboring Guinea.

President Weah said:” The recent coup in Guinea has created serious political crisis, which threatens regional peace and security.”

The Liberian Leader challenged the coup leader, Col. Mamady Doumbouye, to come up with reasonable timetable and plans to return the country to democratic civilian rule.

Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie told reporters that the Liberian Leader spoke Tuesday, October 19, 2021, during discussions with his counterparts, President Foure Gnassingbe of Togo and Roch Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso, at a one day state visit to Togo.

According to Minister Rennie, President Weah also held bilateral talks with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Endogan (Endowan), who was also on a state visit to Togo.

The Information Minister said:” The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including possible cooperation on security, infrastructure, and the economy.”

Minister Ledgerhood Rennie further said that both Presidents Weah and Endogan agreed to have future discussions during a state visit of the Liberian Leader to Turkey, before the year comes to a close
