Gov’t to offer alternative livelihoods to protect environment

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says the Liberian Government is working to provide alternative livelihoods to some Liberians, as a way of protecting the environment.

Professor Wilson Tarpeh said currently there are several projects that government, through the EPA and the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), has embarked on to ensure the environment is protected.

Professor Tarpeh said:” There is an ongoing Eco-Stove Pilot Project for the Township of West Point and other coastal communities.”

Speaking on the MICAT Hour from Glasgow, Scotland, Friday, November 5, 2021, the EPA Executive Director said similar assistance will be provided to people around the forest areas in the Country.
