GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, has launched a fifty-million Liberian Dollar scholarship for public school students in Ganta, Nimba County.

Minister McGill launched the scholarship drive on Friday, November 5, 2021, at the Ganta Sports Stadium.

The Minister of State said:” Funding for the scholarship is being made possible through Government’s Free School for All Initiative.”

According to him, modalities are being worked out to ensure students benefit immediately, beginning this academic year.

He assured citizens of Nimba County that the scholarship will remain active, until the end of President George Weah’s Presidency.

Meanwhile, several officials and education stakeholders of Nimba County have praised President Weah, through Minister McGill, for extending similar scholarship drive to Bong and Margibi Counties.

Senators Prince Johnson, Jeremiah Koung, including the County Education Officer, Moses Dologbay, in separate remarks lauded the Liberian Government for easing the burden on parents.

At the same time, Minister Nathaniel McGill has pleaded with eligible voters of District-One in the County to vote Professor Francis Mawean.

Professor Mawean is contesting on the ticket of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) of Senator Prince Johnson.

Support from the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for Professor Mawean is due to an unbreakable political marriage between the MDR and the CDC since 2017.

Minister McGill said:” Professor Francis Mawean is the most qualified candidate who could be given easy access to the Presidency, if elected.”

According to him, a successful Weah’s presidency is dependent on lawmakers, who are willing and unbending in their support to Government.

Senators Johnson and Koung then reminded the people of Ganta about several developments undertaken by Government in the Country.

The Senators asserted that developments in the County are enough reasons to elect a pro-government Nimba Caucus.
