MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Series of dialogues are ongoing with candidates and election stakeholders, as the National Elections Commission (NEC) prepares for the pending November 16 By-Election in four counties.
The counties are Grand Gedeh, Nimba, Bong, and Bomi.
In a statement over the weekend, the NEC said the events will bring together Members of the Board of Commissioners and Senior Technicians of the Commission, along with various candidates and stakeholders.
Other participants involved in the electoral district dialogues are members of civil society organizations, the media, teachers and practitioners.
The election stakeholders will be discussing the conduct of peaceful elections, electoral dispute resolution mechanisms and inclusiveness.
The first in a series of dialogue will take place in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, to be followed in Gbarnga, Bong County, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
The third and fourth will be held in Ganta, Nimba County, and Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, on Wednesday, November 10 and Saturday, November 13, respectively.
The electoral district dialogues in the four counties are being held under the theme: ‘enhancing Transparency in the Electoral Process”.
