Prioritize Community Policing Structures to reduce crimes-Mr. Kaffay

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Chairman of the Community Watch Forum says there are community-policing structures that must be prioritized, to reduce crimes in the Country.

Mr. Nyenatti Kaffay said:” The structures were developed by the United Nations Missions in 2003, with support from the Government of Liberia.”

According to him, the community policing structures can be reactivated through direct support and coordination between the Community Watch Forum and the Joint Security.

The Community Watch Forum National Chairman named surveillance, neighborhood watch team operations, and information dissemination as pillars that need to be reactivated.

Speaking on ELBC Super Morning Show Thursday, November 11, 2021, Mr. Nyenatti Kaffay urged the Government to invest in the Community Watch Forum, for the overall security of the State.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kaffay has lauded the Joint Security for including the Community Watch Forum in the current review of the Country’s security situation.

Following a National Security meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the Community Watch Forum was tasked to vet community teams in close coordination with the LNP.
