MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court-B has written the Senate, based on a complaint filed by one Patricia Matee Flomo against Senator Milton Teahjay.
Madam Flomo, in her complaint alleged that Senator Teahjay cleared her vehicle from the Freeport using his duty free privilege, and has since converted it to his personal use.
Flomo said:” She was constrained to complain to Judge Karboi Nuta, after the case was first heard at the Magisterial Court for action conference, and then Summary Proceedings at Criminal Court-B.”
Madam Flomo furthered said the Senator had earlier promised to free her vehicle, after she was introduced to him by his brother Patrick Teahjay residing in the United States.
She alleged that the Senator cleared the vehicle and has been suing it since March this year, refusing to turn it over to her relatives in Monrovia.
According to the Clerk of Criminal Court ‘B’, the Liberian Senate has since replied the Court, saying the citation asking Senator Teahjay to appear, contravenes the Legislative immunity as enshrined in Article 42 of the Constitution.
