Minister of State renewed Gov’t’s commitment to upholding Democracy

KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGee, has renewed the Liberian Government’s commitment to upholding the tenants of democracy, including free press.

Minister McGee said:” There is an urgent need for Government to support community radio stations, because they serve the vast majority of the citizenry.”

According to him, the Government of President Weah will work to ensure that the capacities of community radio stations are enhanced to provide balance and factual information to their audiences.

Minister McGee was speaking over the weekend, when he served as Guest Speaker at the 4th Anniversary of Classic FM in Kakata, Margibi County.

He lauded the Management and Staff of Classic FM for the sacrifices rendered over the last four years and presented a cash of five-thousand United States Dollars, and promised five motor bikes as his contribution to the suitability of the nation.

For his part, the General Manager of the station, Emmanuel Degleh,  thanked Minister McGee for the donation, and promised that the station will continue to uphold the ethics of the journalism profession in Margibi County.
