Nat’l Elections Commission launches report on study for introduction of new technology…….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) has launched a report on feasibility study, for possible introduction of a new technology in voter registration and elections in Liberia.

In a release issued over the weekend, the new technology is the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR).

Speaking at the launch of the new technology in Monrovia, the Chairperson of NEC, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, praised and thanked Liberia’s international partners for the level of support.

Madam Browne-Lansanah said:” Their support has led to the successful report on the feasibility study that could lead to the possible introduction of the new technology in voter registration.”

Meanwhile, representatives of the UNDP, EU, the National Identification Registry of Liberia, and the Swedish Embassy promised their individual organization’s support to the achievement of biometric voter registration in Liberia
