MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bhofal Chambers, has described the National Legislature as the fulcrum of democracy, and urged members to uphold its integrity for the betterment of the Country.
Speaker Chambers said:” The National Legislature is solely there to constructively oversee and compliment the workings of the various branches of Government and its functionaries.”
Speaking Monday, January 10, 22, at the opening of regular activities of the Fifth Session of the Fifty-Forth National Legislature, Speaker Chambers promised better collaboration in getting the people’s work done.
He also said the National Legislature looks forward to the Supreme Court of Liberia relating to issues of interpretations of impeachment procedures.
According to him, such strengthens democracy, as the National Legislature impeaches cannot interpret how impeachments are done.
