House of Rep. pays tribute to victims of New Kru Town Stampede

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has paid tribute to victims of the New Kru Town stampede.

At least twenty-nine people died in the stampede Wednesday night, January 19, 2022, following a crusade in New Kru Town.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, during its Thursday, January 20, 2022, the House of Representatives also mandated its Judiciary and Security Committees to review the tragedy and other incidents.

House Speaker Bhofal Chambers, in brief remarks, said:” The both committees will proffer circumstances leading to casualties within the Country, for onward submission to the Executive Branch of Government.”

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives later, on Thursday, visited family members of the victims in New Kru Town.
