ArcelorMittal-Liberia remembers New Kru Town Stampede Victims

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ArcelorMittaliLiberia has presented ten-thousand United States Dollars to families of the New Kru Town crusade stampede victims.

Making the presentation Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the Community and Government Relations Manager, Marcus Wleh, said the amount is the Company’s way of identifying with families of the victims.

Mr. Wleh added that the amount is intended to support the stampede victims’ children and dependents.

Also speaking, Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf described ArcelorMittal-Liberia’s contribution as a milestone gesture.

Minister Sirleaf said:” The Government is contemplating on establishing a seed fund, to help raise money to cater to families of the victims.”
