Pres. Weah holds First Cabinet Meeting in the New Year

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George WEAH on Wednesday held his first major Cabinet Meeting for the new calendar year 2022, focusing on several critical national issues.

President Weah said the meeting was significant for taking stock of the performance of the Government of the last year, and praised the efforts of his cabinet in the performance of their respective duties.

The Liberian Leader said:” While considerable progress was recorded, it is also important to note that there are areas of concern that need to be addressed.”

He used the meeting to brief his Official Family of the security issues confronting the West African Sub-region, saying the leaders are consulting on best measures to curb the menacing wave of undemocratic means of clinching power.

The Liberian Chief Executive then announced that an Extraordinary Summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS is to convene in Accra, Ghana, today Thursday, February 3, 2022.

The Cabinet held discussions and made decisions on several critical issues, including, but not limited to the upcoming national launch of the Bicentennial on February 14,2022, the national prison conditions, the At Risk Youth (Zogos), employment programs by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
