MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-More than three –hundred students attending the Saint Barnabas Episcopal School in Unification Town, Margibi County, have been forced out of school, after fire gutted the entire school building on Saturday.
The Principal of the school, Famatta Ansumana, told ELBC that the fire was caused by charcoal improperly quenched.
According to her, the school administration commissioned three students to carry out the coal production project, after which the bags of coal are packed in the building for onward distribution to Saint Barnabas Church members.
Madam Ansumana said:” Unfortunately, some of the charcoal was not properly put off, causing the fire incident.”
With all materials damaged and students expected to begin their second marking period test on Monday, February 7, 2022, the school has launched an SOS call to the Liberian Government and humanitarian to come to their rescue.
