NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Citizens of Nimba County are calling the Liberian Government to allow SOLWAY, an iron ore mining company, to mine in the Blay and Delton Community forest, adjacent Nimba Nature Reserve.

The citizens of Gbehley-Geh, Yarmein and Sehyi Districts had gathered to honor authorities of the Liberian Company for significantly impacting the community, since it began exploration in 2019.

They said unlike other concession companies, SOLWAY has invested in agriculture program for the people and employed many citizens in top level positions, especially the youths, among others.

Also speaking, SOLWAY Mining Incorporated CEO, Alford Boimah-Morgan, hailed the citizens and stated that his company has found enough iron ore in the Blay and Delton Mountains.

Mr. Morgan disclosed his company’s preparedness to mine the ore once a Mineral Development Agreement is signed between the Liberian Government and SOLWAY.

He further refuted rumors that negotiations are ongoing for the sale of his company, adding that SOLWAY remains focused on its quest to mine the Blay and Delton Mountains.
